Direct-Fired Absorption Chiller is a cooling system that uses a burner (natural gas, diesel, or LPG) as a direct heat source instead of waste heat or steam. It follows the absorption refrigeration cycle, using a lithium bromide (LiBr)-water solution, where water acts as the refrigerant and LiBr as the absorbent. These chillers are ideal for locations without access to waste heat or steam but with an available fuel source. This chiller type is best suited for standalone cooling applications where direct fuel combustion is the most viable energy source.
